Summary. MOPX is an offline application. It does not have user accounts, and it does not send your business data anywhere. Everything you enter (products, prices, stock, bills, customer names and phone numbers) is stored only in a private database on your own device. We cannot see your data. We have no server that holds it.

1. What the app stores on your device

MOPX stores the following locally on your phone only, inside the app's private storage area:

WhatWhy
Product names, barcodes, prices, stock counts, categoriesTo run your inventory
Product photos you choose to attachTo help you identify products
Bills, line items, totals, discounts, taxes, payment methodsTo create and reprint receipts
Customer name and phone number, when you choose to enter them on a billTo print them on that customer's receipt
Your business profile (shop name, owner name, address, phone, GSTIN, currency)To print on receipts and invoices
Sales history and the figures shown on the dashboard and in reportsTo show your totals, trends and best sellers
App preferences (light/dark theme)To remember your settings

This information is never transmitted to the developer or to any third party. It stays on the device until you delete the app or clear its data.

MOPX records the name of a payment method on a bill ("Cash", "UPI", "Card"). It does not process payments. It never asks for and never stores card numbers, UPI IDs, bank details or any payment credentials, and it is not connected to any payment gateway.

2. What leaves your device

Your business and customer data never leaves your device.

The only network communication MOPX performs is an over the air update check. When the app starts, it contacts Expo's update service (u.expo.dev, operated by Expo / 650 Industries, Inc.) to ask whether a newer version of the app's code is available. That request is encrypted in transit with HTTPS and includes technical information only:

  • A randomly generated installation identifier. It identifies an installation of the app, not you as a person, and is reset if you uninstall and reinstall.
  • The app version and update runtime version.
  • Device platform and OS version.

It does not include any of your products, bills, customers, prices, or business profile. This check is used solely to deliver app updates.

That is the complete list of what leaves your phone. MOPX makes no other network requests of its own, and works fully offline in every other respect.

3. Permissions the app requests

PermissionWhy it is neededOptional?
CameraTo scan product barcodes and to take product photosYes, you can type barcodes manually and skip photos
Photos / Media (Android 12 and below)To attach an existing photo to a productYes
Internet / Network stateOnly for the update check described in section 2The app works fully offline without it
Vibrate and audio settingsScan feedback: the buzz and beep that confirm a successful scanYes

MOPX does not request location, contacts, microphone, SMS, call logs, or any other sensitive permission, and it cannot draw over other apps. Camera frames are processed on the device to read barcodes and are never recorded, stored, or uploaded. Any permission you grant can be revoked at any time in Android Settings.

4. Data sharing and selling

We do not sell your data. We do not share it. We do not have access to it.

No advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or tracking libraries are included in this app. MOPX does not use an advertising ID, and it shows no ads.

5. Service providers

MOPX has no backend of ours. These are the only third parties involved in delivering the app, and neither of them receives your business or customer data:

ProviderPurposePolicy
Expo / 650 Industries, Inc.Building the app and delivering over the air updates to ithttps://expo.dev/privacy
Google PlayDistributing and updating the app on your devicehttps://policies.google.com/privacy

These providers operate independently under their own privacy policies. We do not otherwise share any information, except where we are legally required to.

6. Backups and exports

MOPX deliberately opts out of Android's automatic cloud backup. Your shop data, which may include customer names and phone numbers, is therefore never copied to Google Drive or any other cloud service without your knowledge.

Instead, the app lets you export your own data on demand: a JSON backup of everything, a CSV of your products, and PDF receipts and reports. These files are created on your device and go wherever you choose to send them. Once you share a file, this policy no longer governs it; the app or service you send it through does.

Please back up your data. Because there is no cloud backup, uninstalling or losing your phone means losing your data unless you have exported a backup file. There is no copy of your records anywhere but your device, and none that we can recover for you. Use Settings → Backup your data → JSON Backup regularly and keep the file somewhere safe.

7. Retention and deletion

Because your data is stored only on your device, you control it completely:

  • Export it: Settings → Backup your data → JSON Backup
  • Delete some of it: remove individual products, bills or other records inside the app at any time.
  • Delete all of it: uninstall the app, or go to Android Settings → Apps → MOPX → Storage → Clear storage.

Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all business data on that device. Since we hold no copy, there is nothing for us to delete on our side and no deletion request is necessary. The random installation identifier described in section 2 is not linked to you, and is discarded when you uninstall the app.

8. Security

Your data is held in the app's private storage sandbox, which Android prevents other apps from reading. Keeping it on the device removes most of the risk that comes with transmitting and storing data on remote servers: there is no account to breach and no database of ours to leak. The update check described in section 2 is encrypted in transit with HTTPS.

Backup files you export are ordinary files placed where you choose to share or save them. Please keep them somewhere safe, as they contain your business and customer information in readable form.

The security of your records therefore depends on the security of your phone. Please protect it with a screen lock, keep device encryption on, and keep Android up to date. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your rights and choices

  • Access and portability: everything is already on your device and readable in the app; export it as JSON, CSV or PDF whenever you like.
  • Correction and deletion: edit or delete any record in the app, or uninstall to remove all of it, as described in section 7. No request to us is needed, and we have nothing on our side to delete.
  • Permissions: revoke camera or photo access in Android Settings at any time. The rest of the app keeps working; only the affected feature stops.
  • Questions: if you believe we hold information about you, or you have any other privacy request, write to us at thispc119@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.

10. Children

MOPX is a business tool intended for shop owners and staff aged 18 and over. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect information from children.

11. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this same address with a new "Last updated" date. If we add a feature that changes how information is handled (an optional cloud backup or sync, for example), we will update this policy to describe it before or at the time it becomes available, and, where the law requires it, ask for your consent first.
