Proter Privacy Policy

Arpan Patra ("we", "us") operates the Proter Android application (package com.protermain). This policy explains what the app collects, why, and what your choices are.

Proter is a private business tool. Accounts are issued by an administrator at the business that uses it; the app is not open to public sign up.

1. Information we collect

Information you or your administrator provide

• Name, email address and mobile number, used to create and identify your account.
• Business name and GST number, where you supply them.
• Billing and shipping addresses, where you supply them. These are typed by a person. The app never reads your device's GPS or location.
• Photographs and PDF documents you choose to upload: product images and price list charts. The app opens your camera, gallery or file picker only when you tap to add one.

Information created as you use the app

• Orders, invoices, billed and pending quantities, discounts, freight and totals.
• Stock movements and product/catalogue changes.
• An audit record of significant actions (who billed, edited or cancelled what, and when), retained so the business can reconcile its own books.
• Diagnostic and performance events, including error reports, used to keep the app working.

Information collected automatically

• A Firebase Cloud Messaging device token, so we can send you notifications about orders. It identifies a device installation, not a person.
• Basic app version and build information, sent with diagnostic events.

We do not collect card numbers, UPI IDs, bank details or any payment credentials. The app records invoice amounts; it does not process payments.

2. How we use it

• To operate the app: creating orders, billing them, tracking pendency and stock.
• To authenticate you and enforce role based access.
• To send operational notifications (a new order to bill, an order billed or cancelled).
• To keep an audit trail the business can rely on.
• To diagnose crashes and performance problems.

We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it.

3. Service providers

We use these providers to run the app. They process data on our instructions and for no purpose of their own:

4. Where data is stored, and for how long

Data is held in Google Firebase, in the asia-south1 (Mumbai) region. Business records (orders, invoices, pendency and the audit trail) are kept for as long as the business needs them for accounting and statutory purposes. Diagnostic events are kept for a short operational window and then removed.

5. Security

All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. Access is controlled by server side security rules: your role determines what you can read and write, and wholesale pricing material is restricted to staff accounts. Administrators can lock an account immediately if a device is lost.

No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the data.

6. Your rights and choices

• Access and correction: ask your administrator, or contact us below.
• Account and data deletion: you may request deletion of your account and the personal data associated with it. Email thispc119@gmail.com from the address on your account. We will action it within 30 days. Note that business records required for statutory accounting (invoices and their audit trail) may be retained where the law requires; we will tell you if that applies.
• Notifications: turn off Proter notifications in Android settings at any time. The rest of the app continues to work.
• Camera, photo and file access: granted only when you tap to add an image or document, and revocable in Android settings.

7. Children

Proter is a workplace tool intended for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

8. Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
